Job description
Cape Otway Lighthouse is the oldest surviving lighthouse on mainland Australia and considered the most significant. This leading attraction on the Great Ocean Road attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually. 

Built in 1848, the lighthouse known as the ‘Beacon of Hope,’ sits 90 metres above the pristine ocean of Bass Strait. 

As a Guide it is my role to engage with visitors, provide 20 minute history talks throughout the day, answer questions, supervise all visitors in the lantern room at the top of the lighthouse tower and demonstrate how the mechanism works. 

As Administration Assistant I provide office support to the small management team. Daily tasks include answering telephones, responding to all email inquiries from visitors, tourism partners, accommodation bookings and suppliers. Generating, sending and tracking invoices. Managing retail stock and the point of sale system. Taking all payment for accommodation bookings and managing the various accommodation platforms including Little Hotelier, Booking.com, Expedia and Site Minder. I am also responsible for filing, supporting staff operationally, assisting co-ordinate special events, writing media releases, managing the site in the absence of a Manager, data entry, managing the website and all other administrative tasks as required.

As Photographer and Videographer it is my responsibility to shoot and edit content for social media, blog posts, marketing and events.
